Moore Cove Falls Trail
Located near Pisgah Forest, North Carolina, you’ll find a waterfall and a 1.2-mile trail that’s good for all skill levels. Make sure that as you hike and watch for birds, you keep your dog on a leash at all times.
Fletcher Park Loop
Another one of the best dog friendly adventures in Asheville is called Fletcher Park Loop. It’s a 2.7-mile trail in a beautiful forest setting. There are several activity options and it’s good for all skill levels. Note that this loop also requires that you keep your dog leashed.
Richmond Hill Park Trail
Richmond Hill Park Trail is 2.8 miles, is good for all skill levels, and features a river. Dogs must be on a leash and all skill levels are welcome year-round.
Lake Powhatan Loop via Bent Creek Trail
This trail is a bit longer at 5.5 miles and moderately trafficked. It’s ideal for all skill levels, with a number of activity options, and features a beautiful river.
NC Arboretum
Here you’ll find 10 miles of hiking trails, located within the botanically beautiful Southern Appalachian Mountains. While trails are dog-friendly, visitors are asked to pick up pet waste. Also, keep in mind dogs aren’t allowed in any of the buildings and in some of the gardens.
Craggy Gardens
The trail is twisted and rocky and at a high elevation but also beautiful and filled with a magnificent floral display. Head there this summer for the perfect viewing of nature.
Triple Falls Trail
Get out on this trail from March through October for the best hiking experience. With over 2.9 miles of hiking, there is something for everyone and all skill levels are welcome.
